Q: Your wall mount product information explains that it fits the HR-12 rail. I am having trouble cross-referencing this to an actual dimension. My rail is 1-1/4" x 1". Will this work?
A: The HR-12 rail is 1-5/8” x 1”. So yes, your rail will fit inside. However, there will be about 3/8” of play, meaning the rail can move slightly side to side. If you do not want the rail to move, you’ll need to either use a 3/8” wide shim or run a screw through the mount into the rail to hold it in place. Unfortunately, we do not carry a mount that fits the exact 1-1/4” x 1” rail dimensions.
Q: I’m interested in purchasing a weldable gate latch. It seems that the latch doesn’t secure to the post.
A: The latch is designed to be more secure than a screwed-on catch. However, if you prefer an external catch, the small U-brackets that work with the latch are typically available at most hardware stores. You’ll need a U-bracket that allows a ½” diameter bar to fit through.
Q: I have a 0.25" fence post, and I need finials. I saw that you have some on sale, but they are 0.75". Will those fit on the post I have?
A: Unfortunately, the 3/4" finials will be too large for a 1/4" fence post. We do not carry 1/4" finials, and the 3/4" size will not fit your post.
Q: Do the aluminum post caps come in 4x6 size?
A: No, we only carry 4x4 aluminum post caps.
Q: What size rail fits inside?
A: The rail size is 1” x 1-5/8".
Q: I am looking for a 4" end cap for a side rail on a vintage handrail. Do you carry this size?
A: Currently, we do not carry end caps in that size.
Q: I need a corner post for a fence. Do you have any available?
A: We have corner posts available for our own unique fence system, and they come in three colors. However, if you're using a corner post from another brand, it may not be compatible with our system.
Q: Do you sell an aluminum lock box for a gate?
A: Yes, we do. We typically stock two sizes of aluminum lock boxes, available in both single and double configurations: one with a 1-1/4" depth and one with a 2" depth. What size are you looking for?
Q: I’m looking for a handrail end cap.
A: All of our aluminum and plastic end caps on the site fit handrail ends. What style do you have in mind?
Q: We are in need of black plastic glides for 1/2" x 2" x 16 ga. tubing. Can you help us?
A: Unfortunately, we do not carry that size.
Q: I’m looking for a post base cover, 1 1/2” square. Needs to be black or a material that I can spray paint. I’m looking for something simple, with no excessive design—just needs to hide the screws and be as unnoticeable as possible. Anything available? I found an aluminum one on your Amazon store that was 2" square. Do you have anything in 1 1/2”?
A: Unfortunately, we do not carry cover shoes for anything smaller than 2” square.
Q: I’m looking for a stainless steel, self-closing weld-on hinge. Is this something you have in stock?
A: We do not have a weld-on stainless steel self-closing hinge. However, we carry three styles of stainless steel hinges. Could you provide the size and approximate weight of your gate?
Q: Do you have shoe flanges for aluminum handrails in a 1 3/4" size instead of 2"?
A: Sorry, we do not have that size available.
Q: I’m looking for a 1/2" black plastic plug for steel fence pickets.
A: The smallest size we carry is 3/4”.
Q: What is the difference between die-cast and sand-cast?
A: Sand casting is an older method of manufacturing, where a mold is created in a sand pit. The shape is hollowed out in the sand, and molten aluminum is poured into it. Die casting is a more advanced process, where metal dies are used inside a machine. Molten aluminum is injected under high pressure, which reduces pitting and trapped bubbles, resulting in a much smoother, more refined part.
Q: How do they attach to the post?
A: You can attach them by welding, gluing, or using screws—whichever method works best for your application.
Q: What can we expect them to look like after a few years of exposure to the weather?
A: It depends on how the customer maintains them. If they are primed and painted, they should maintain their appearance for many years.
Q: Does anyone make solar 2" x 3 1/2" gate post lights for vinyl fences?
A: We are not aware of any company that makes that exact size.
Q: I have a standard 6' high, 4' wide vinyl gate. It is equipped with a catch that the puppies can defeat with ease. We have a spring clip on the outside, which works great unless we're trying to get out. Putting it on the inside causes a similar problem, naturally. Are there latches that are more like doorknobs—something requiring opposable thumbs or a level of dexterity beyond that of a German Shepherd or Husky?
A: We do not carry anything with a doorknob-type handle. The only latch we have that twists is the HW5.046. We offer several other latch options that are push-button or lever-activated. These are typically dog-proof, but in theory, a large dog could open them if they pressed the button or lever just right.
Q: Do you have unpainted 3" pole bases? Tall Europa?
A: We carry square pole bases in 3", but we do not carry round ones.
Q: Just wondering—can you get any longer ones with longer threads? I asked the guy I order from, and he said the threads were 7" long, but they aren't that long.
A: Unfortunately, we don’t carry any with longer bolts. The 7” dimension includes more than just the J-bolt length. That’s how those hinges have always been described.
Q: Regarding your plastic tube plug (white) for 3/4" square tubing, I need to know the wall thickness variation for this plug. I use a .062 wall 3/4" square tube—will your plug cap work with this?
A: Yes, the plug is designed to fit the most common 3/4" square tube sizes, including a .062 wall thickness.
Q: What is the difference between HR-1 and HR-10?
A: The difference is that they are two different styles of top caps.
Q: I’m looking for a price on one Golf Ball Post top for a 3" post.
A: The post top we carry that is similar to a golf ball is a smooth ball shape. We offer this for both round and square posts.
Q: Looking for some self-closing hinges, preferably weldable, for a pool fence.
A: Most of our hinges are self-closing. However, all of them are attached with screws or bolts. Our weld-on hinges are designed for heavier gates, which require larger springs to close properly.
Q: Do I need to weld your finials? I have a 3/4" square aluminum post and I want to simply place a finial on top of it. Is this possible with your product?
A: Our finials are made to be welded on, but they can also be attached with screws or glue. Alternatively, we offer plastic finials that can be pressed on without the need for glue.
.
Q: We have your lock installed at our community pool and need additional keys for new residents. The key is a small silver flat key. It has “D & D” on one side and the number 62464 on the other. Can we order more of these keys, and at what cost? I would like to order ten of them.
A: D&D typically handles key orders. Please contact them using the information below. They usually mail the keys at no cost.

Q: When I unlock it from the inside, I can feel it click and the latch inside will open, but the push button on the outside won’t open until I also unlock it from the outside. So, if one of my tenants unlocks it from the inside, walks out, and closes the gate behind them, they will assume the gate is unlocked, but it will still remain locked from the outside. Is this by design, or is it defective? I have tried this several times. It has the same problem with both of the keys.
A: For the LOKKLATCH D&D Black Two-Sided Key-Lockable General Purpose Gate Latch, if you lock it from the inside, you need to unlock it from the inside as well. Otherwise, you cannot re-enter from the outside. If you lock it from the outside, you can still exit from the inside, but you must unlock it again from the outside to re-enter. The latch can be operated and locked from either side of the gate when combined with the included external access kit. Please note that locking the external access does not lock the main latch.
Q: Can your aluminum caps be painted?
A: Yes, all aluminum parts can be primed and painted.
Q: I'm looking for the spring that returns the latch to the locked position for a standard PVC gate latch. Do you carry this item?
A: We carry a large gate spring that closes the gate itself, but not a specific spring for the latch return.
Q: Do you have any 3" square tubing flanges in 316L for a marine application?
A: Unfortunately, we do not carry 316L tubing flanges. We only have aluminum.
Q: I’m not sure if you can help me, but I came across your website while looking for a 2" x 1" ID mount for a piece of 2" x 1" OD rectangular aluminum tube I have. It is for something other than a fence. I really need something like part AL14.004 but longer—say, 6"—for my purposes. Do you have anything like that?
A: Unfortunately, we do not have a mount like that.
Q: I’m looking for a base plate cover. The post is 1-1/4" and the baseplate is 3". My client needs it to be metal and snap together. Do you carry something like this?
A: Unfortunately, we do not carry that item in our inventory.
Q: I’m looking at a 3x3 aluminum post base. Can I get this without the pre-drilled hole (Item # AL13.100)?
A: No, all of our post bases are pre-drilled.
Q: I’m interested in your 6" aluminum caps (Item # AL11.015). Is there any way you can text or email a picture of the inside of the cap? From the looks in the picture, I would guess the inside corners are square and not rounded. I just want to confirm.
A: Item # AL11.015 has square corners inside.
Q: I have 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" square tubing and need post caps for them. Do you have any?
A: Yes, Item # AL11.015 fits the description.
Q: Are the 2" pyramid caps drilled for mounting? (Item # AL11.023)
A: No, the caps are not pre-drilled.
Q: Item # AL11.066 says it's for 4x4 posts. Am I correct in assuming this is for the nominal size posts sold at lumber yards (3-5/8", I believe)?
A: What material is the post you are working with?
Q: What are the dimensions of AL11.067?
A: The overall height of the unit is 1.6". The length of the post that can fit inside is just under 1/2", approximately 0.47" - 0.48".
Q: Does the 4" pyramid post cap (die-cast aluminum, Item # AL11.067) apply to a nominal 4x4 wood post? Could you tell me the inner measurements of this product? It should be 3 5/8" x 3 5/8", right?
A: No, the inner measurement of the aluminum cap is just over 4" x 4". It is made to fit metal posts, not wood posts. We do have a few thousand copper-plated pyramid caps for wood posts in DF that fit either 3-1/2" or 3-5/8" square wood posts.
Q: Can you please tell me the inside dimension of the 4" flat top post cap (Item # AL11.070)?
A: It is just a tiny bit over 4” so it can fit over a 4” square post.
Q: The posts we have are 5” square. Will these fit, as the measurement of the cap we need is 4.5”?
A: If the post is 5” square, a 4.5” cap will not fit. Our 5” caps are made to fit true 5” square posts.
Q: Do you have a bottom picture of these? I need to know if these need to be glued on or if they get tapped on with a hammer.
A: They need to be welded or glued on. They usually won’t fit tightly enough to just tap on. The flat-top version of the cap WILL usually fit tight enough to tap on. This applies to both AL11.050 and AL11.061.
Q: I'm looking at your pyramid post caps, specifically the 3" version AL11.057. I need to know if the 3" dimension refers to the height of the entire part, or if it refers to the height of the side wall. The same question applies to AL11.050.
A: The 2.5” and 3” cap dimensions refer to the size of the post they fit over.
The following dimensions are the same for both caps:
Q: Do you sell the 3" pyramid post cap (die-cast aluminum, Item # AL11.057) with no paint or powder coat on them?
A: Yes, AL11.057 (3" pyramid post cap - die-cast aluminum) is available unpainted. You can find them on the first page of the aluminum post caps section on our website.
Q: Question about item AL11.057. Does this fit over a 3" x 3" aluminum square post? Can you provide a measured drawing or a sample part?
A: Yes, it fits a 3” square post.
Q: I would like to know the difference between item AL11.068 (ball cap) and item AL11.065 (ball cap).
A:
Q: Do the 4" aluminum sandcast caps (Item # AL11.066) fit snugly onto a 4x4 post? Are they actually 4x4, or are they 3-1/2" x 3-1/2"?
A: They will fit a true 4x4 post perfectly.
Q: I'm ordering the 4" pyramid post cap - die-cast - aluminum (Item # AL11.067). Will this fit a nominal 4x4 wood post? Could you tell me what the inner measurements of this product are? It should be 3 5/8" x 3 5/8", right?
A: No. The inner measurement of the aluminum cap is just over 4" x 4". It is made to fit metal posts, not wood posts. We do, however, have a few thousand copper-plated pyramid caps for wood posts in DF that fit either a 3-1/2" or 3-5/8" square wood post.
Q: What is the inside dimension of the 4" die-cast pyramid post cap (Item # AL11.067)?
A: It fits over a 4” x 4” square post.
Q: Can you please tell me the lip dimension for the 6 x 6 pyramid die-cast metal fence post cap (Item # AL11.079)?
A: The lip dimension is ¾”.
Q: I’m looking at Item # AL11.079. Is this post cap made for a wooden post? If yes, how do you attach it?
A: No, it is made for an aluminum post that measures a true 6” x 6”. Wood posts are typically closer to 5.5” x 5.5”. If you want to paint the caps and screw them to wood posts, they will work. You will just need to align the caps carefully, as they will only make contact on two sides.
Q: Your 6" aluminum post cap—what are the other dimensions? Is it 6" x 6" square or 6" x 4" rectangular? (Item # AL11.079)
A: It is 6" x 6" square. These caps are made to fit a 6” x 6” post.
Q: Does your 6" die-cast aluminum cap fit 5-1/2" x 5-1/2" porch posts? (Item # AL11.079)
A: These caps are made to fit a 6” x 6” post, not a 5-1/2" x 5-1/2" post.
Q: Is your item # AL11.110 ball top post cap designed to fit snug into the top of a 3" pole, or does it slide over the top of the pole? How is it secured?
A: It slides over the top of the post. Typically, it is then welded to the post.
Q: I am looking at the 3" ball cap for round posts (Item # AL11.110 - alum - sand cast). Does this fit over schedule 40 steel pipe?
A: These caps are made to fit a round tube with a 3” OD.
Q: I would like to know if item number AL12.025 will fit in a 3/4" schedule 40 aluminum pipe. Please respond ASAP so I can finalize my order.
A: It isn’t specifically made for that size, but yes, it will likely fit into a 3/4" schedule 40 aluminum pipe.
Q: I need a post mount for a 1-inch aluminum fence like the picture enclosed. I’m looking for something that extends out about 2 inches from the post. Do you have anything like this?
A: The only mount we have for a 1” square post is AL13.006.
Q: I am interested in your 1-1/2” shoes. I have questions on parts AL13.020 and AL13.017. Is the interior dimension of each square exactly 1-1/2"? I want to use one of these to mount 2” poplar balusters to a ceiling and have the lower end bolted/screwed to the step’s sideboard, creating a safety rail system for a currently open set of steps leading to the second floor. I would like to get such a thing in white if possible.
A: These items are just slightly larger than 1.5” square inside. This allows a 1.5” square tube to be inserted into them.
Q: Hello - please confirm the inside dimensions of the 2" square shoe, heavy-duty flanged, white. Will a 2" square post fit inside the opening? Item # AL13.024.WH.
A: Yes, these are made specifically for a 2” square post to fit inside.
Q: Hi, I'm looking for a 2-piece base shoe to cover 5x5 base plates and 3" square tubing.
A: We can offer you our Item # AL13.041. It’s a 2-piece cover shoe for a 3” post, as per your inquiry. It has a 5-1/2” square footprint, roughly 5-3/8” inside, so it will cover a 5x5 base plate.
Q: You wouldn’t happen to have post base covers in aluminum, would you? I only found plastic ones on your page.
A: Yes, we do have one aluminum cover shoe:
Q: I’m looking for specs on Item # AL13.042. I need to know the outside dimensions.
A: The maximum height at the center is 1-7/8”.
The footprint is 5-5/8” square.
Q: Looking for a flange or shoe that fits a square 3x3 tube to surface mount it to concrete. Do you carry something like that?
A: AL13.043 is the standard 3” shoe, and AL13.045 is the heavy-duty version.
Q: Does your 4" shoe, MF Die Cast (Item # AL13.046) hold a nominal 4x4 post?
A: Yes, it will fit a 4" by 4" post.
Q: So the internal dimensions are 3.5" x 3.5"?
A: No, the internal dimensions are designed to fit a true 4" x 4" post. It will fit a 4" x 4" post, which actually measures 4" x 4".
Q: How thick is the 4" x 4" base plate? Item # AL13.101?
A: The thickness is 0.223 inches.
Q: Can I have the specs on the 4” aluminum base plate? Item # AL13.101. What is the grade of aluminum, thickness, hole size, etc.?
A:
Q: How thick is your 5" base plate with holes (aluminum)? Item # AL13.102.
A: It’s 1/4” thick.
Q: What is the thickness of the 5"x5" base plate? Item # AL13.102?
A: Approximately 0.220 inches.

A: The inner diameter is approximately 2-3/4”.
Q: What size hole is in Item # AL14.215?
A: The hole is 3/8” in diameter.
Q: Do you have one with a 1/4” diameter hole in the aluminum tab?
A: No, we only carry 3/8” holes.
Q: Item # AL14.215 - The weld-on aluminum tabs that are 1 5/8" x 1". How thick are they?
A: They are 0.93 inches thick.
Q: Do you have any wall mounts that are 1-1/2 inches by 2 inches? The railing I have is 1x2, but the 1-inch side is just a fraction over 1 inch, and the 1x2 inch wall mounts I got from you are a fraction too small.
A: Unfortunately, we do not have a 1-1/2 x 2 inch size. However, we do carry a 2x2 version that may work for you: Item # AL15.009.
Q: Does this item slip over a 1x1 aluminum picket with an outside diameter?
A: Yes, it fits over a 1” square tube.
Q: Will Item # AL11.110 fit a 3 1/4" post? Q: I am looking for 2 x 2 inch square wall connectors. Do you have these? Q: Would you please let me know the complete dimensions of your 2" Square Wall Mount (Item # AL15.009)? Specifically, I wanted to know if the center is exactly a 2" x 2" square (i.e., it fits very snuggly over 2x2 (actual) square tubing). Also, I wanted to know the exact size and location of the holes (diameter, distance from both edges, center-to-center distance, etc.).

Q: I live in Palm Aire, and most of our buildings have aluminum railings made in the 70s. Most of which have lost their caps over time. I would like to know if it is possible to find compatible end caps, even if they might not match the original shape, but could still provide a safe end to the railing. Preferably in plastic.
I am attaching photos of the original end caps (no need for the side extension), and of the rail section, which includes internal measurements (external measurements are 2 5/8" x 1", and internal horizontal space is 7/8").
Initially, we would be interested in around 180 caps and would let other associations within Palm Aire know of the option if a solution is found.
A: We recommend AL15.036 as a possible fit for your railing. However, we do not carry a plastic option for this.
Q: I ordered aluminum railing caps, AL15.050.WH - HR1 END CAP - AL - WH. They fall out the end of the railing. Is there another piece to hold them in place?
A: Installers typically use a small self-drilling (tek) screw to secure them in place. If you prefer not to have a visible screw, a metal adhesive can be used instead.
Q: For Item # AL15.093.WH (2 x 2 x 1.5" Angle Bracket), can you please tell me the thickness of the material?
A: The material thickness is 0.093".
Q: For Item # AL15.093.WH (2 x 2 x 1.5" Angle Bracket), can you please tell me the diameter of the holes?
A: The holes are 1/4” in diameter.
Q: I need 10, 90-degree elbows for Sch40 aluminum tubing. I realize that Sch40 has a strange measurement, so I want to see if you have elbows that would fit this.
A: The Sch40 tubing is 1-1/4” pipe. We carry elbows for this size under code AL19.120, and we have plenty of stock.
Q: Do you have aluminum 1" twisted balusters?

A: The PL12.007.BK is made of polypropylene. It fits over a 3/4" square picket. The total height is 4 inches.
Q: What is the height (base to tip) of Item # PL12.007.WH 3/4" QUAD - PLASTIC - WHITE?
A: The height of the PL12.007 is 4 inches.
Q: Do you have 1/2" QUAD - PLASTIC - BLACK instead of 1 inch?
A: No, we do not carry a 1/2" size. We only offer the 1" size.
Q: I will need a bunch of finial tops for a Halloween fence I hope to build. Attached is the one I'm hoping to buy. How can I tell the hole shape or size?
A: The best way to determine the hole size or shape is by measuring the picket size. We carry finials in both plastic and aluminum that fit ¾” square and 1” square pickets.
Q: I am interested in plastic caps for the gate. A 3/4" Quad plastic Black @ .28/pc. Is the ¾” measurement for the inside of the caps or the outside of the caps? (Item # PL12.007)
A: The ¾” measurement refers to the inside of the cap. It is designed to fit over a ¾” square tube or bar.
Q: Can you verify that the 3/4” quad fittings will fit over a 3/4” PVC pipe? (Item # PL12.007)
A: These 3/4” quad fittings are made to fit over a ¾” square tube. PVC pipe, typically measured from the inside, may have slightly different dimensions, so they might not fit as snugly.

A: The pin is located in both the steel and aluminum portions of the hinge.
Q: For the 7" COMBO ALUM/STEEL BLOCK HINGE - GREASE FITTING (PAIR) (Item # HW1.022), is there a brass insert?
A: No, there is no brass insert in this hinge.
Q: For the 7" COMBO ALUM/STEEL BLOCK HINGE - GREASE FITTING (PAIR) (Item # HW1.022), is there a grease fitting?
A: Yes, there is a grease fitting in the hinge.
Q: Does Item # HW1.030.BK (5" SPRING HINGE - ALUM - BLACK) have a stainless steel pin and spring inside?
A: Yes, it does contain a stainless steel pin and spring inside.
Q: Can you please send me the technical details for Item # HW1.032.BK? I am looking for the weight limit.
A: The manufacturer does not specify an exact weight limit for this hinge, but based on experience, it holds up to 70 lbs. It can handle more weight, but exceeding this may cause the spring to fail over time.
Q: I would like to purchase the HEAVY DUTY - NON SELF-CLOSING HINGE - ALUM - BLACK but I need the taxes removed before I can purchase this hinge. I work at a university that is tax-exempt. Item # HW1.034.BK
A: To create a tax-exempt account, you'll need to make an initial purchase. Afterward, taxes will be refunded, and the tax-exempt status will be applied to future orders.
Q: Hi, I was looking at the GRAVITY LATCH - STANDARD - STAINLESS STEEL (Item # HW2.025) and need some dimensions on this product. Specifically, I am looking for the length of the bar, width of the latch, and the hole locations (center-to-center distances). If you have a schematic or drawing, that would be great.

A: The dimensions of Item # HW1.040.BK (KWIKFIT WALL MOUNT HINGE - KF3A - BLACK) are as follows:
Q: My existing gate hinge dimensions are 2-1/4" x 1" x 1-3/4" with a 5/8" pin. I’m hoping this combo will beef things up a bit. The gate is 12' x 12' aluminum louvered, and it will be mounted to a steel post. Trash dumpster and the drivers keep abusing them.
A: Based on your dimensions, the yoke hinges (like Item # HW1.047) would be a stronger option for your gate setup. These are more durable and can handle the additional stress caused by the trash dumpster and traffic.
Q: Do you have any gate latch suggestions for a gate I’m getting made? It’s gonna latch on the handrail. I’m ordering Horizontal Adjustable Stainless Steel Spring Hinge (Item # HW2.040.BK)
A: Yes! We recommend either the STD Gravity Latch or the Deluxe Gravity Latch.
Q: The installers lost the adjustment CAM's and hex wrench. Is it possible to get those from you?
A: Unfortunately, we don't sell individual parts like the adjustment cams or hex wrenches. These items are typically bagged together at the factory overseas. However, you should be able to find replacement hex wrenches and cams at any hardware store, as they are common sizes.
Q: By chance, do you have the dimensions of the pin and/or pic for the hinges?
A: These hinges don't use a specific pin as you might expect. Instead, they use a small round pin with a 3mm diameter. You don’t need an exact match—just something close to this size will work for adjustment. In many cases, you may not even need to use it at all.
Q: It seems like the gate side could be bolted to a 1" square steel frame, but what size should the post be?
A: The hinge connectors have different angles: one side is 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" and the other side is 1-1/2" x 2". The larger side typically attaches to the post, as the post is usually a larger dimension than the gate frame. However, technically, the hinge can work with any post size 2" square or larger. The hinge is mounted to the corner of the post and the corner of the gate frame, so the post size isn’t critical.
Q: Can Item # HW2.040.BZ support a 150-pound gate?
A: Yes, this hinge can support a 150-pound gate, but it will not close automatically due to the weight. Some customers disable the spring mechanism on heavier gates to prevent strain, so the hinge can still support the weight but without the spring-assisted closing action.
Q: I recently bought two sets of the STAINLESS STEEL SPRING HINGES (Item # HW2.040.BK) and the installers lost the adjustment CAM's and hex wrench. Can I get those from you?
A: As mentioned earlier, we don’t sell individual parts like the adjustment cams or wrenches. These parts are packaged together at the factory. However, you can purchase similar Allen wrenches at any hardware store, and the adjustment cams can also be found in hardware stores or sourced as generic replacements.
Q: I am interested in specifying Product # HW2.069 on a construction project. Can you send fabrication details and dimensions, including overall height, overall width, overall depth, bolt hole size, and bolt hole spacing?
Unfortunately, I don’t have detailed fabrication specs for Item # HW2.069, but I can help you source more specific details from the manufacturer or your supplier if needed. You may also want to contact the manufacturer directly for the most accurate specifications.
Q: Item # HW2.070 - Are these adjustable?
A: Yes, Item # HW2.070 hinges are adjustable.
Q: Does your heavy-duty yoke hinge (steel/steel) come in pairs? Item # HW2.070
A: No, Item # HW2.070 is sold individually, not in pairs.
Q: Do you have any self-closing hinges that can be welded on?
A: Yes, we do! You can use Item # HW2.071, which is a self-closing hinge designed to be welded on.
Q: I need 2 gate hinges to fit on 2-inch square posts and 1 1/2-inch square gate posts. The hinge in the picture is 4 inches high, and the legs are 1 1/8 inches deep. If I can get hinges in white, I'll order up to 6 depending on the price.
A: Based on your requirements, I recommend the D&D nylon hinges in white.
These hinges are a great option for saltwater environments, like yours near the Gulf of Mexico, as they are designed to resist corrosion. They also have nylon components, which will help prevent the "locking up" issue you're experiencing with metal washers.
Q: The original fence hinges had a plastic-looking washer, and the pictured hinge has a metal brass-colored washer. My house is a mile from the Gulf of Mexico, and my lawn is watered with well water. The original hinges get tight over time and eventually lock up. The hinge in the picture doesn’t have the lock-up problem after being installed for over 2 years. Self-closing is not needed.
A: Based on your concerns, the D&D nylon hinges are a great choice because they are designed to withstand harsh environments like saltwater and well water. Unlike the metal washers, the nylon components in HW3.003.WH and HW3.004.WH will not corrode, reducing the risk of the hinges seizing up over time. You can opt for either model depending on the weight of your gates.
Q: I wanted to check stock and understand the difference between the legs and no legs on the HW3.004.WH hinge.
A: The legs on the HW3.004.WH hinge are internal. They serve two purposes:
These legs are optional and not necessary for functionality, but they can help make installation smoother and may add extra strength if your gate is particularly heavy or frequently used.
Q: Is there a way to make the keys match (I have two latches that operate on the same key)? Item # HW3.014.BK
A: Yes, you can have MagnaLatch® latches rekeyed by a locksmith to match. The latches are equipped with a rekeyable lock, so a locksmith can rekey them to the same key. If you need more details, the MagnaLatch® Series 3 also has a visible Locked/Unlocked indicator and is made with patented magnetic technology, which is excellent for child safety gates and high-cycle usage.
Q: Item # HW3.014.BK Lost key to my MagnaLatch. What can I do?
A: Each MagnaLatch® has a serial number. Take a photo of the serial number from your latch and send it to us. We can contact D&D Technologies and help you get a replacement key at little or no cost.
Q: Item # HW3.014.BK. I have several top-pull MagnaLatch Series 2. Squirrels have eaten the plastic part of the top that you grab to release the latch. Do you carry that part?
A: Unfortunately, we do not carry replacement parts for that specific plastic piece. The MagnaLatch Series 2 doesn’t have individual parts available for sale. You may need to contact D&D Technologies directly for any replacement parts.
Q: Item # HW3.014.BK. Can the MagnaLatch be installed on either left or right-sided gates?
A: Yes, the MagnaLatch® can be installed on either left or right-sided gates, as it is designed to be reversible.
Q: I need to get three MagnaLatch top-pulls in black, all keyed alike.
A: We can have these MagnaLatch® latches keyed alike for you. Please specify this request when placing your order, and we will ensure they are all keyed to the same key.
Q: D&D MagnaLatch - Short / Vertical Pull – Black Item # HW3.015.BK. I just ordered 2 of these for my 5-ft pool gate. Someone told me I ordered the wrong ones. Did I order the wrong ones?
A: If your gate is 5 feet high, then the vertical pull latch (Item # HW3.015.BK) is indeed the correct latch. It's designed for vertical pull gates, which is ideal for pool gates.
Q: I have 3 Delgard Versa latches that I want to replace. I am looking for an alternative latch that I can use with the existing Delgard fence. Do you offer anything that will work?
A: A good alternative to the Delgard Versa latches would be the Lokk Latch Magnetic.
Q: Are your Lokklatch Magnetic LLMKABT or LLMKDBT? Item # HW3.019.BK
A: The Lokk Latch Magnetic (Item # HW3.019.BK) is for the LLMKDBT model.
Q: Item # HW3.019.BRUSH. Is this part always unlocked from the inside for emergency egress?
A: No, the Lokk Latch Magnetic is not automatically unlocked from the inside. If you lock one side, it also locks the other side. If you need a latch with emergency egress functionality, we recommend Item # HW3.130.BK - the Panic Latch, which is designed to allow emergency exit from both sides.
Q: I just need heavy gate hinges without springs. What part numbers do you recommend?
A: You can use Item # HW5.013 for heavy-duty, non-spring gate hinges. These hinges will work for most standard gate applications unless your gate is oversized.
Q: Cap will be used on a wooden 6x6 post (actually 5.5"x 5.5"), will this fit?
A: We don’t have a 5.5" cap specifically. However, we have options for 6" and 5" caps. The 6" plastic cap will likely fit well, but it may have a small gap since your post is slightly smaller than a true 6" square post. The 5" option will be too small for a 5.5" post.
Q: Are your post caps made for wood?
A: Yes, we have several options for wood posts:
Q: My fence posts are 3 3/8" square. What size cap do I order?
A: Unfortunately, we don't have a cap that fits 3-3/8" square posts perfectly. We suggest using Item # HW5.195 (4" Plastic Post Cap) for 3-1/2" to 3-5/8" square posts, though it will require centering on your post and securing it with a nail.
Q: On the 6-inch post caps, can you tell me if they are actually sized to fit a wooden 5 5/8” x 5 5/8” post? Item # HW5.196
A: The 6" plastic post caps are designed to fit true 6" x 6" wood posts (5-3/4" x 5-3/4"). These will also fit 5-5/8" x 5-5/8" posts snugly.
Q: Do you have a diagram with the measurements for product HW6.002.BK?
A: We do not have a detailed diagram for this hinge. However, the wraparound portion of the hinge fits over 2” gate frames.
Q: Do you have a technical drawing with specs for Item # HW6.002.WH?
A: The wraparound hinge HW6.002.WH is made to fit over 2” gate frames, and we do not have a more detailed drawing.
Q: Do you have this item but in Black? HW6.031.WH
A: Yes, we do have the black version of this item. It is Item # HW6.031.BK.
Q: Ok, because as it is pictured on your website, the black differs from the white one. I need to make sure the black looks exactly as the white is pictured. I need a direct swap so all the screw holes line up on the fence post.
A: The black and white latches (HW6.031) come from different manufacturers, so while they serve the same function, the design and hole placement may differ. If you are trying to reuse screw holes from the white version of the latch, the black version may not line up properly. We do not suggest reusing screw holes, as the hardware could fail over time.
Q: Do you have the dimensions of Item # HW6.033.BK?
A: We do not have exact measurements for this part, but it is approximately 5 inches in length.
Q: I need to know the dimensions of part HW9.221.WH. I need to know the length. I am looking for ones that are 3” long in total. .75, 1.5, .75 inches.
A: The HW9.221.WH is longer than the 3" you need. The total length is just over 5”, with 1-1/4” tabs at each end and a 2-1/2” center tab.
Q: Do you have dimensional drawings for the Extruded Screen Door Hinge (HW9.221.WH)?
A: We do not have dimensional drawings available for HW9.221.WH.
